Never forgive

I want to think that someday I’ll be able to see the videos of those planes flying into the Twin Towers and not be furious. I want to think that someday I won’t cry on the anniversary of this day. I want to think that someday I’ll be able to forgive the people who hate this country.

Today is not that day

I’m not that good a person

I will never forget how I felt before 9/11

I will never forget what freedom felt like before 15 days to flatten the curve

I will never forgive – and I may go down, but I’ll go down fighting

You are a good person and sometimes, things happen that are unforgivable…period! On Friday, my college had a huge screen set up and showed 9/11 as it was happening…so many students ignored it. I think because they weren’t born then it didn’t ‘matter’ to them. What?? It matters to EVERY single American. When I was watching the video, I cried. I love you, WONDERFUL American!!!!! xoxo

    • I think I would have grabbed their heads and forced them to watch. But then again, they’ve seen this footage so many times that it’s nothing more than a movie to them. They have no idea how different things were before.

  3. I don’t know about you but I am not the same person I was before 9/11 and I’m not the same person I was before the pandemic. I too am angry about both.
I think the powers that be took advantage of 9/11 and learned a lot so it was easier for them to take advantage during the pandemic. Too many people don’t see it. I wonder why they are so blind.

    • It’s always easier to be a sheep. I’m not the same person I was. 9/11 killed my mother – the constant fear was more than she could withstand. I understand what fear does to people. We are fed a constant diet of “we’re all gonna die” from everything from a small snowstorm to a disease that most people will get and recover from in a few days.
I see it in my students – they don’t have the ability to figure things out anymore, they blindly accept whatever they’re told.
It scares the shit out of me

      • The fear being used as a weapon is a constant. You’re right. Everything is out to get us. I’m sorry about your mother. No one should have to live in fear. The victims of all this is a much longer list than we will ever know.
My husband and I picked our son up at school for the afternoon (dinner out to celebrate our daughter’s birthday). While we were sitting outside his dorm (for 20 minutes while he finished some homework) I asked my husband if he thought the many kids walking by had any idea what’s going on in the world. We both think the majority of them are oblivious. It scares the shit out of me too.

      • She lived through WW2 and the Depression but 9/11 was too much. It took 2 years but I’ve always laid the blame on that.
Some of the young ones have a clue. They whisper to me after class – afraid to be heard. I tell them to stay strong

Don’t say you aren’t a good person. Your feelings are understandable and I respect them. Learning how to forgive can take a lifetime or longer. Peace to you, friend.
