I really don’t like drama – probably because most of my family thrives on it and I’ve really seen more than I want.
My life has been quite the roller coaster this past month. We had the primary on May 20th. PA does this cross filing thing so you can be on both the Republican and Democrat ballots. Everyone who knows me knows I’m a die hard Republican- so I won on the Democrat side. Good Lord, shoot me now.
The reason for this was – you guessed it – drama. Oh well. We have till November to get our message across to those who don’t vote in primaries.
In other news, but related, Bear decided to retire from his job at the school – because of, yup, you guessed it – drama. It was definitely related to me speaking out, but we have no proof, only a gut feeling.
And he had the Watchman procedure scheduled. that happened yesterday, he spent the night in the hospital, home today, all went well. The only drama there – did you really think there wasn’t any? – was the date of his retirement and would his insurance still be in effect. (It is).
Maverick had surgery two weeks ago. He had something on his gum called an epilus. Drama? Only in the waiting for the biopsy- it was benign, thank God.
Meanwhile, Maverick has decided that the only possible means of entertainment is to lick his paw, relentlessly, unceasingly, till most of the fur is gone and I’m about to tear my ears off so I don’t have to hear the lap lap lap any more.
I’m heading for NY in 2 days. Thst might be fun but I’m visiting family- and they LOVE drama!
I’m grateful for adult beverages these days
For someone who doesn’t like drama, you are certainly swirling around a whole bowl full of it! I vote you indulge a LOT in NY so you might not remember the joy of a dramatic family, then go home and put a sign on your door letting drama know it’s NOT welcome! And put a sock on Maverick so he can’t lick!!!
I hope your life gets boring for the summer ❤

I KNOW!!! It’s just been one fuck me sudeways after another! (I’ve tried everything with that paw, I’m about to pour booze on it and lick it off myself!)

I can just see Maverick at that moment… “WTF Momma, that’s MINE”
FWIW, my daughter uses a sock under that stretchy tape the vet uses, takes her pitt about 45 minutes to work it loose. Just enough time for a relaxing pour…. just sayin’

That’s a good idea – I’ll try that when I get back from vacation

Try putting lavender on his paw, it doesn’t taste great (maybe he won’t like the taste) but it will take care of any itching that might be causing him to lick it. Can’t hurt :P.
Yeah drama is not my favorite thing either. Take a poster board and draw a red circle on it, then write Drama in big black letters, then a red line through it. I have one with Murphy in the middle, he’s my nemesis :P.

I’ve noticed that my pain level increases with drama as well. I’ve named my pain, perhaps crossing her out will help!

First of all, you have to pronounce it correctly. It’s “Dur-ahhh-ma”. (It needs three syllables. I learned that from my teenage niece. 😆)
Um…congratulations? Are you pleased that you won the election? Will you be able to make any positive changes? Will you at least be able to be a pain in the Board’s collective butts? If nothing else, you can commission a $20 million study to learn how to talk to your husband.
I’m happy to hear that everyone’s surgeries went well. It is unfortunate that your husband needs a Watchman, but it is good that he has it.
It sounds like Maverick has allergies. Is there medication he can take?
Are you planning to fill the car with “Fine, Fermented Beverages”, or are you going to stock up once you reach your destination? I say: both.
Good luck over the next couple of weeks!

I merely won a slot on the ballot- the real election is in November. Maverick is on allergy meds and I won’t do injections- I’m certain it’s mostly stress that he’s feeling from all the dur-ahhh-ma!!! I believe that I will be hitting the store for some adult beverages when I arrive and indulging on Saturday night so there could well be some tipsy blogging! I’ll update on the campaign stuff- it’s quite juicy – when this mess is over!

My BIL is also a Republican and won the Democratic primary. Unfortunately he lost the election as the incumbent wrote mean, nasty lies against him. Good luck.
Glad all went well with the surgeries.
Might I suggest you stock up adult beverages before you get to NY as I’m sure things are higher priced there.
“Fudge” drama.

There are some pretty mean, nasty lies being told about me and my fellow Republicans for this one, too. I’m going to myself, “it’s SCHOOL BOARD, people, not the freakin President!” Sorry about your BIL 😦 Actually, adult beverages are cheaper in NY! I think it’s because everyone is so depressed there, they have to keep them tipsy or they’d all move.
