Not really hard to train!

Cool! Is that to teach Sit or Sit/Stay? I wonder if I could trick Murphy into doing that?

It’s one of the tricks for the title. It does translate to sit/stay though. Have you looked into clicker training? It’s pretty cool

My Cairn boys rolled their eyes when I tried clicker training. It was either a food reward for them or nothing. It might work with Murphy, though.

Use the clicker to tell them a food reward is coming!

I got a couple of books that explain the process of clicker training and there are tons of videos if you’re interested.

I am still with the stage with Murphy where I am trying to get his attention so that I can teach him something . He gets so excited that he can’t concentrate. Soon, though. I even have some clickers in my coat pocket for when we’re ready!

I have clickers everywhere! I’m a clicking fool!

What a good boy! Carver is terrified of cardboard boxes. Absolutely terrified.

Maverick is terrified of trash bags!

That’s funny. I wonder where they get these quirks. All the good things come out of a box, I would think he would love them.

My husband wasn’t thinking and snapped a trash bag open when Maverick was a puppy. It scared him and he’s never trusted a trash bag since. We no longer snap them open!

You tell Maverick I don’t trust trash bags either. Someone at the factory pokes holes in the bottom so it drips through the house on garbage night. Carver walks behind me licking.

I think that Carver may have an insider at the factory who does that on purpose. 🙂 Maverick wants to find someone who will cause tissues to drop from the sky, he dearly loves to shred those!

You might be on to something. Oh, Carver and tissues…please!! What is it with tissues?

Any paper products! It’s like gold to Maverick!

I’ve come back to look at this video several times! I’m glad to see Maverick making progress in his training, plus seeing him – and you – “live” really strengthens how much I enjoy your blog posts even more because now I have a visualization!

That video was one I made for our tricks title. I’ll have to post more – he’s really a character
