Today has been one of those *CFSS days. Maverick does not do weekends well. Therefore, I do not do weekends well. I’m sure it’s my fault, basically everything to do with Maverick is my fault. He goes to daycare 5 days a week and doesn’t understand why he has to be home 2 days. His routine is get up in the morning and get in the car, play all day, come home and snuggle a bit, play some games with Mommah and then repeat the same thing the next day. Saturdays and Sundays, Mommah wants to sleep past 8 am, and drink her coffee in peace.
What is this peace of which you speak? Maverick hasn’t a clue and doesn’t wish to catch one.
I was told that by the age of 2, dogs became more aware of their people and less focuses on themselves. 5 1/2 years later, I’m still waiting for that to happen. I was also told that he would calm down when he hit 2. Still waiting on that one, too.
So today was Sunday, aka “drag Mommah around the park’ day. Our walk wasn’t as bad as yesterday but it wasn’t good. My body hurts, from the cold, partly, and partly from 5 years of being beaten up by Maverick. When we got home, I had lunch, and watered my plants – and if you want plant advice, go visit my friend Kristi’s new blog Plants and Projects and she’ll tell you how to fix any problem you have, although “put it out of its misery” is probably not the best advice I’ve ever gotten. (Okay, I did tell her I hate the poinsettia and it hates me back) Anyway, she made me laugh today.
And i think I managed to figure out, after multiple attempts to fix the bloody thing, how to get my printer to print normally from my laptop. What a CFSS that’s been!
*cluster fuckin shit show
Sleeping in? I have a vague recollection what that is. We’re up at 7:00AM. Every. Darn. Morning. Once the time changes sometime next month and we lose an hour of sleep, we won’t get up until 8:00! I can’t wait!
I adopted two poinsettias from church a couple of years ago. They are still alive (barely) but they stay green. I will check out your friend’s blog and see what I am suppose to do with them.
I couldn’t figure out what CFSS meant. Thanks for unscrambling the alphabet phrase. I hope I can remember that. But I probably won’t.

I wish there were parks here. Every time I whine about it some euphemist reminds me there’s the beach. I miss parks. Lily & Lulu spent hours exploring and Gracie’s closest thing is a nearby plant nursery.

There are quite a few parks around here. We use the same one because anywhere new is just too exciting

Sorry you can’t sleep in, :(. I won’t tease you with I’m retired and there are only 2 or 3 days a week I can’t sleep in, but it just kills me, lol.

I suppose I shouldn’t complain- during the summer, Bear gets up at 4 am every weekday

That’s one reason that Maverick and I are so tightly bonded. When we got him, Mark was working that awful shift so I would get up at six and just cuddle with the puppy all morning long play a little cuddle play a little nap play a little cuddle.

I am sorry your body suffers so much from your love for Maverick. I bear some musculoskeletal deformations thanks to Geordie. And yet, would we trade our puppies for better health? Nope.
Can you sneak some CBD biscuits to Maverick to help him sleep in on weekends? Or Benedryl? That sometimes helps. 😆

I give him something called NutriCalm that helps. He’s just very high energy and well, I’m not!

Oh gosh, that sounds familiar. It takes a lot out of you, but the rewards are great. 😊

Oh, boy. My Carver is two and he still can’t let me make the bed without jumping on it and hitting the gas. I have seen a huge improvement in his behavior in the last month or so. I have heard from other Goldie owners that our breed takes longer to “STFD”!

Goldens are puppies till the day they go to the Bridge. Maverick’s mom was full field line – the hunting type of Goldens. He has all the prey drive, he’s incredibly smart and he knows how to manipulate Mommah. He’s a character and I doubt I’ll ever figure him out – so I try to remind myself to enjoy the journey but when I’m tired and he’s still raring to go, I just want to hand him the keys and say “you drive, I need a nap.” 😁

Every night before I go to bed, I put Carver out for one last pee. It’s dark. It’s cold. He finds the ball somewhere in the yard and gets so revved up to play! Ugh!

Every night we try to do a little training- if a session goes more than five minutes- same result. PLAY TIME!
